Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Lightdune LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of Washington, United States. We develop and operate a portfolio of independent software products under separate brand names (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, applications, and services operated by Lightdune LLC, including lightdune.com and each of our product websites and applications. Individual products may supplement this policy with product-specific privacy notices where additional detail is required.

For the purposes of this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Lightdune LLC.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account with any of our products.
  • Payment information: billing address and payment method details. Payment processing is handled by third-party processors (such as Stripe or Shopify Billing); we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Product data: information you upload to or create within our products in the course of using the Services. The types of product data vary by product and may include business records, operational data, compliance information, and generated reports.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support, submit inquiries, or respond to surveys.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and session duration.
  • Device and browser information: device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, and language preference.
  • Network information: IP address, approximate geographic location (city/region level, derived from IP), and referring URL.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7 below.

Information from third-party platforms:

  • If you install one of our Shopify applications, we receive store information provided by Shopify through their API, including store name, store URL, and the specific data scopes authorized during app installation. We access only the data scopes necessary for the product to function.
  • If you connect a property management system, booking platform, or other third-party service to one of our products, we receive the data you authorize through that connection.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services you have requested.
  • Process transactions and send related information, including purchase confirmations, invoices, and subscription notices.
  • Send service-related communications, including alerts, compliance notifications, diagnostic reports, and product updates relevant to your account.
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests.
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve our products, identify issues, and develop new features.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your product data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you, unless we have your explicit consent or are required by law.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, and customer support. These providers access your information only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Platform partners: For products distributed through third-party platforms (such as the Shopify App Store), certain information may be shared with or accessible to the platform provider as required by their developer agreements.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: If Lightdune LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users before personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services to you. We may also retain certain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and for legitimate business purposes such as maintaining security and preventing fraud.

Product data you upload or create is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your product data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary for the protection of our legal rights.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular review of our security practices.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our Services. Specifically:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Services to function, including authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how users interact with our Services so we can improve them. We may use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics or privacy-focused alternatives) for this purpose.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels for the purpose of serving targeted advertisements. We do not participate in cross-site advertising tracking networks.

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences through their settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Services.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your personal information under certain circumstances.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests as the legal basis.

Washington and California residents: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information. You have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. You have the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Swiss residents: Where we process personal data of individuals in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we do so on the legal bases of contractual necessity (to provide the Services you requested), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the Services), and consent (where explicitly given). You have the rights listed above and may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International Data Transfers

Lightdune LLC is based in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. By using our Services, you acknowledge this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for active account holders, provide notice through the applicable Service or via email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
